YouDiagnose in a nutshell

YouDiagnose is a forward-looking, transformational organisation that is heralding the next wave of disruption in healthcare technology.

Further information about YouDiagnose

YouDiagnose is designed to bring together high impact and low-cost technologies to overcome barriers created by socio-economic status, geography, educational disparity and biological factors.

After analysing all types of technologies and options for early diagnosis, we have concluded that big data-driven diagnostic solutions can revolutionise the diagnosis of cancer and bring a paradigm  shift to the way we diagnose and treat diseases, especially cancers.

The Growth of the Healthcare AI market

  • AI in the healthcare market projected to grow at a CAGR of 44.9% from 2020 to 2026.
  • AI in the global healthcare market is expected to reach USD 45. 2 billion by 2026.
  • Machine learning technology is likely to become increasingly dominant in the stock market.
  • Availability of big data and demand of sustainable healthcare will drive the growth.
  • COVID-19 will accelerate the adoption of new technologies at the workplace.
  • The diagnostic segment of AI in the healthcare market is projected to be at its highest rate.

An Analysis of the Global Healthcare 2020 Outlook

  • Healthcare stakeholders are implementing payment reforms such as value-based payment models that help providers, payers, and patients achieve the best outcomes at the lowest cost.
  • Technology-enabled patient engagement strategies are enabling increased financial independence for patients in their healthcare decisions, in addition to improving interactions with their healthcare systems.
  • Governments are also moving the needle by adopting universal health coverage and introducing pricing controls on pharmaceuticals and medical technology devices.
  • Population Health Management (PHM) is being used to identify people’s healthcare needs and offer services accordingly.

AI in healthcare is estimated to reach USD 45.2 billion by 2026; it is projected to grow at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 44.9% during the forecast period.

Case Studies of AI-technology in healthcare

ADA healthcare

ADA healthcare has been used so far by a total 212765 number of patients with a rating of 4.7(play store) which is more focused on providing patients with diagnosis and treatments for common conditions such as common cold, influenza, infection, sinusitis, diabetes, headache, migraine, anxiety etc.

Babylon

Babylon is a virtual general practice symptom checker website and mobile application that provides the patient with the artificial intelligence driven diagnosis, possible management plans and tips on how to live healthily. Its symptom checker can analyse millions of symptoms in seconds and it also provides options for online consultations and treatments by providing patients with online prescriptions which are sent directly to pharmacy for collection within one hour. This application has been used so far by 3452 people with the Google play store rating of 4.2.

Symptomate

Symptomate is an artificial intelligence driven advanced symptom checker website which evaluates the patient’s symptoms and validated by doctors. It claims to know more than 800 conditions and help the patient to know their state of health instantly. This works by providing the end users with the artificial intelligence driven medical chat bot and symptom checker which is undergone 3,000,000 plus assessments wait 800 plus condition at 1500 plus symptoms in the database.

IBM Watston Oncology

IBM Watson Artificial Intelligence Computer Program for Oncology achieved a high degree of concurrence with humour board recommendation in a double-blind date validation study carried out at Bangalore India according to the results presented at 2016 Saint Antonio Breast Conference Symposium.

Case Studies on Medical Leadership

Social Science Medicine 2013

As per a publication in Social Science Medicine 2013, based on published information from hospital trust annual reports, publicly available performance measures from the Healthcare Commission and data gathered by Dr Foster over a three-year period (2006-9), the paper reports two main findings.

  • Firstly, the analysis reveals a significant and positive association between a higher percentage of clinicians on boards and the quality ratings of service providers, especially where doctors are concerned. This positive influence is also confirmed in relation to lower morbidity rates and tests to exclude the possibility of reverse causality (doctors joining boards of already successful organisations).
  • Secondly, we do not find the same level of support for clinical professions such as nurses and other allied health professions turned directors.

The hard Cancer facts that must drive innovation…

1 out of 3 cancers in the UK are diagnosed late due to staffing issues.

Cancer lifetime risk has increased to 51%. In other words, 1 out of 2 people will develop cancer at some point in their lifetime.

50% of GPs are planning to retire in the next five years (based on a study of 1697 GPs in the Wessex region).  This is due to very low morale over the past two years leading to significant numbers wanting to leave their practices early.

YouDiagnose can help bridge the market gap for high impact & low-cost innovation

Lack of root cause analysis of patient journey

The companies that focus on post-diagnostic or therapeutic support (e.g. new drug discovery, new radiation therapy, genomics, proteomics solutions, clinical trial matching, post-diagnosis cancer decision support system, etc.) contribute only 5% to early cancer diagnosis/treatment because these solutions only come into play after a diagnosis is made.

 Fragmented innovations

Radiology artificial intelligence can diagnose early cancer if the patient undergoes radiological imaging (e.g. a mammogram) and this is only carried out when the patient undergoes a screening test or presents symptoms. The population benefit isn’t possible because we cannot regularly put everyone under X-ray machines!

High cost low-impact innovation

Increased time gained after expensive treatments is often limited if the cancer diagnosis is in later stages. In contrast, diagnostic cancer companies can add 95% of value to the early cancer diagnosis proposition because they act before the diagnosis is made. With their preventative roles, they can reduce the cancer incidences.

Non-accountable solutions are a problem

The AI healthcare market is full of low technology patient-facing symptom checkers which offer an diagnostic accuracy of c.33%. Lack of accuracy and accountability leaves the patient with many probable diagnoses. With the lack of a cancer focus and a risk-averse approach, these diagnoses don’t help with early cancer detection.

YouDiagnose Frugal Innovation: A technology-enabled mechanised work culture can deprive the healthcare of the much-needed human touch and empathy. And evidence-less technologies will add to the existing unsustainability of the healthcare models.

YouDiagnose sits at the intersection of:

  • Non-conventional futuristic technologies
  • Human Values & Cultural Intelligence in Machine Learning era
  • Evidence-based healthcare

YouDiagnose’s solutions stand to transform the landscape of primary and secondary care by providing AI-enabled, data-driven, multi-disciplinary, personalised, evidence-based approaches to decision making for provision of care.

YouDiagnose, with its laser-sharp focus on cancer-care solutions, stands to bring a paradigm shift in cancer care and reduce the global disparity in quality of life and cancer survival.
